Known
as Emerald Beach because of the deep green of its waters, this beach that
lies on the coastal strip of the Ciego Caleticas estuary has an overall
length of 900 m.
It is located 5 km. from Guardalavaca, 72 km. from an international airport and 56 km. from the provincial capital, Holguín,. Its warm, clear, limpid waters are sheltered by coral reefs, flanked by cliffs, steep slopes and plenty of plants.
This
is a perfect site for water sports such as diving or snorkeling, windsurf,
catamaran sailing or sailboarding. A bay in the beach vicinity includes
Bahía de Naranjo Natural Reserve. In that bay, surrounded by hills,
there is an aquarium whose main attraction is swimming among dolphins.
